Back in June, we told y'all about the Louisiana Job Connection website that was like a "Match.com" for Louisiana job seekers...well, it's LIVE!

Here's the original post:

There’s a website that will be launched this month called Louisiana Job Connection. Louisianians will be able to use the site that acts like a match.com for job seekers.

This will help out both employers and future employees! The best part about the website? It’s FREE!

The basics of this website is it will allow users to create an account and input their qualifications. It will then use an algorithm to match the job seeker with the perfect job for them. It will also allow employers to find the perfect employee for them.

Governor Bobby Jindal had this to say about Louisiana Job Connection:

“With tens of thousands of new jobs on the way in Louisiana from business expansions and relocations, meeting the new and increased talent demands of Louisiana employers is of paramount importance. Louisiana Job Connection will be a valuable resource for Louisiana employers to help them quickly locate talented, qualified applicants. Our state recently hit a record for the number of people working, and this new tool will not only continue to help Louisiana job seekers find good jobs, it will also provide new opportunities for former residents to find good opportunities right here in Louisiana.”

The website will launch for employers to post job openings on June 13th. It will open to potential job seekers on August 18th.

[UPDATE]

LJC Executive Director Kristi Barnett Williams and Stephen Moret, secretary of the Louisiana Department of Economic Development talked about the benefits of the website.

“Louisiana Job Connection will be a valuable tool for job seekers near and far to be automatically matched with the Louisiana jobs best-suited for their skills and experience,” Williams said.

“We believe it can be a tremendous asset for Louisiana businesses and job seekers alike,” said Moret. He said the website is a valuable tool for job applicants ranging from “current residents looking for the perfect job to Louisiana expats looking to return home.”

It's not just anyone that can post job opportunities either. Every business must provide a valid Louisiana tax identification card.
