We told you about the accidental find of a very rare chair and desk found in an Acadiana family's home that could be worth $250,000. Well, it sold at auction...for over $1 Million!

When they were found, they were appraised for the chair between $30,000-$50,000 and the desk between $150,000-$250,000.

The chair and desk were made by Louis Majorelle around the year 1900. The pieces went to auction Wednesday at Sotheby's in New York. A rep for Sotheby's said this about the pieces:

"The desk and chair offered here are masterful examples of Majorelle's distinct approach to the Art Nouveau aesthetic, creating furniture inspired by the fluid and elegant lines of nature," an excerpt of Sotheby's catalogue reads. "The structural details are sculpted like plant stems and the curved lines are ornamented with voluptuous waterlilies mounts."

The chair and desk were put to auction by the Merwin Hale Wilkinson, Jr. family. They fetched $653,000 for the chair, and $365,000 for the desk, totaling $1,018,000!

HOLY COW!
