At approximately 7:00 a.m. Tuesday (9/23) a female student was attacked and car-jacked a few blocks away from the UL campus.

The incident happened at 118 Oakcrest Dr. The female victim was approached by a black male wearing a grey shirt (no other description was noted) asking to borrow a cigarette lighter. When the victim let it be known she did not have a lighter, the suspect embraced her, threw her in her car, and began choking her.

The suspect drove off in the victim's car, dropping her off about a block from the initial attack. He then left in the vehicle in an unknown direction.
