Online piracy is something that is slowly deteriorating the film and music industries, especially the latter. This week, the Recording Industry Association of America and the Motion Picture Association of America have launched the Copyright Alert System to start the war on internet piracy.

This system is made to find users that share files using peer-to-peer file sharing networks. It's simple, if you are sharing such copyrighted files on such networks, the Copyright Alert System will obtain your IP address and report you to your Internet Service Provider.
