The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on April 18 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and the Foo Fighters have been given the honor of inducting Canadian prog rockers Rush at this year’s event.

This is a big week for Dave Grohl, who is not only bringing his 'Sound City' documentary and a Sound City Players concert to Austin's South by Southwest, he's also delivering the music conference's keynote speech. The rocker tells USA Today that he feels confident in the speech he's ready to give and part of that comes from his upbringing.
One of Coachella's biggest draws this year is the reunion of the indie outfit Postal Service, which features the synth-led sounds of Jimmy Tamborello paired with Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard's vocals. But according to a new Funny or Die video, there were actually several recognizable rockers that tried out for the job before Gibbard was selected.

It turns out that Dave Grohl wasn't exaggerating when he said there's "pretty much an entire" new Foo Fighters record ready to record. That news, which came from the mouth of Dave last week, was an exciting surprise for Foo fans who were resigned to the idea that the band would be on an indefinite hiatus while Grohl focuses on his 'Sound City' movie, his supporting Sound City Players all-star band and whatever other activities keep the always-busy rocker busy.
Last night was Video Games Live at the Heymann Center, which is a multimedia video game music concert. Before the show, they held a Guitar Hero contest and the winner was allowed to perform on stage with the orchestra. The winner was Jason Simoneaux, who is visually impaired. He performed 'The Pretender' by the Foo Fighters and received a standing ovation.

Musician, director, humanitarian - Dave Grohl has been one busy Foo Fighter this year. And now, it has just been revealed via the Foos' Twitter page that the frontman will serve as guest host on the 'Chelsea Lately' show on the E! network tonight (Dec. 6), filling in for the show's usual host, Chelsea Handler.

The film has interviews with everyone from Tom Petty to Trent Reznor. The now closed down studio was once a well sought after place to record albums like Nirvana's Nevermind.
