Some may go into the Apple Store to check out the latest iPad or iPhone, but Friday night (Jan. 17) metalheads gathered at the Apple Store in New York City's SoHo neighborhood for an intimate question and answer session along with an acoustic performance featuring the one and only Zakk Wylde.

The new iPad Mini with Retina Display was just announced at today's Apple Special Event, fulfilling the wishes of many fans of eye-candy.

MSNBC.COM has reported that Apple co-founder Steve Jobs has died. He was 56 years old. Apple released the following statement: "We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

After 14 years of heading a company that he co-founded in his garage of all places, Steve Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple Inc. In the last eight years, Jobs has had problems with pancreatic cancer and has also received a liver transplant.
