The New Orleans Saints have signed running back C.J. Spiller to a four-year contract.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter first reported the signing, while Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reported the length of the deal.

Spiller, 27, has spent his entire 5 year career with the Buffalo Bills after the selected him 9th overall in 2010 out of Clemson.

Spiller's deal is worth $18 million, with $9 million guaranteed and a $5 million signing bonus.

Injuries have prevented Spiller from living up to expectations in Buffalo.

He's coming off his worst season in terms of production in 2014, rushing for 300 yards in 9 games, missing 7 games with a broken collarbone.

Spiller's best season came in 2012, accumulating over 1700 all-purpose yards and 8 touchdowns in Chan Gailey's spread offense.

Saints running back Mark Ingram tweeted out his happiness about the acquisition of Spiller.
