If you were watching the Saints game this past Sunday vs. the Giants, then you know how scary that injury looked.

P.J. Williams, the second year corner back for the Saints, suffered what Sean Payton called one of the worst concussions he's seen.

Williams stayed on the field after his injury longer than most. The medical team made sure his breathing was regular before immobilizing him, and carting him off the field.

"He'll be able to make a full recovery," Payton said. "He'll be able to return to football in the offseason, and yet, I would say probably one of the more severe concussions I've seen."

After several experts reviewed his injury, it was determined that he be placed on injured reserve, thus ending his 2016 season.

This was done to protect Williams so that he can return in the off-season, as the severe concussion will take extended time to heal.

"It's not measured by just on the field," Payton said. "There's a series of tests they do that they're able to determine how much trauma in the event, and his is one where the rest and recovery is going to be necessary. All the experts take a peek at the slides and scans, and so that made the decision to put him on IR an easy one."

We wish P.J. a quick and speedy recovery! He is definitely an asset on the field for the Saints!
