The Acadia Parish Sheriff's office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is asking for the public's help as they are trying to find a man from Rayne who is wanted for his part in the burglary at a crawfish dock yesterday south of Rayne.

Both agencies were called out to the burglary in progress around 3:30 Thursday morning at the business in the 5200 block of Abbeville Highway.

Agents say Cary Gordon Bastian drove off to the south as the Wildlife and Fisheries Agent rolled  up to the scene.  Police say he drove at speeds of up to 100 miles an hour towards the Vermilion and Lafayette Parish line.

Investigators say a man was hiding at the business all night long to try to identify who had been stealing the businesses' crawfish.  The witness says that  Bastian put six bags of crawfish in the trunk of his Camero right before police got the scene.

Bastain is being sought on charges of:

One count of simple burglary

One count of reckless operatoion of a motor vehicle

One count of aggravate flight from an officer

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Bastian is urged to call area police.
