A decision on whether Ray Rice will be reinstated to the NFL as a player is expected before Thanksgiving.

IF Rice is reinstated, it doesn't mean that he'll play in the NFL again soon, or ever.

IF he's reinstated, it will allow a team to sign him. That's highly unlikely this season, seeing as we're in week 13, and the distraction it would cause would be pretty large.

The NFLPA argued to a retired judge that Rice was punished twice for the same incident. It's being said that Roger Goodell handed down the second, and more severe punishment as a way to repair his, and the league's image.

Goodell is saying that the way that Rice verbally told him the incident happened wasn't consistent with what the video showed. Rice says it is, and so does the Ravens GM, Ozzie Newsome.

As said before, a decision is expected before Thanksgiving. The NFLPA hasn't said what their plan of action would be if it is ruled that Rice is not to be reinstated.
