If you are a sports fan you are probably passionate. It's that passion that drives us to paint our faces, put decals on our cars, spend a lot of money on shirts that have numbers and other people's names on them, and of course there is the yelling at the TV and radio.

As odd as that behavior might seem to a person who is not a fan of sports what happened in New Jersey will have even over the top fans shaking their head.

Tonight the New Orleans Saints will play the Dallas Cowboys in a game that you can hear on 97.3 The Dawg. The pregame show begins at 5:30 with kickoff set for 7:30. Most fans of the Saints can't stand the Cowboys or their pompous and entitled fan base. Still the two sides agree to disagree and get along fairly well.

The rivalry between the Cowboys and the New York Giants is a little more intense. There isn't just a dislike between the fan bases there is a white hot hatred between supporters of each side. I give you the following as an example.

According to a story published in The Guardian a New Jersey priest was arrested on September 13th, the night the Cowboys and the Giants played each other, for pointing a gun at an 8-year old boy because he was a Cowboys fan.

Bergen Country Prosecutor John Molinelli explained in comments he made to NBC 4 New York.

The young boy was apparently a fan of a particular football team, the priest was not. So perhaps we have indication it started out as that. There’s no such thing as joking around with a weapon when you’re dealing with an eight-year-old kid.

Kevin Carter a priest at St. Margaret of Cortona Roman Catholic Church in Little Ferry was arrested on charges of endangering a child and aggravated assault by point a fire arm. His bond was set at $15-thousand dollars.
