Every few years the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) puts out their estimates of people using marijuana from 12 years and older.

SAMHSA uses data from annual National Surveys on Drug Use and Health. The latest findings are from survey dates between 2012 and 2014. A whopping 204,000 people were surveyed.

San Francisco took the top spot with 15% of people 12 years and older using marijuana monthly, or more. The bottom spot goes to the southern part of Texas, where under 4% of people 12 years and younger use marijuana monthly.

The highest percentage rate comes from western states, where the lowest comes from the south.

While Colorado does have a pretty high percentage on this map, the surveys were done between 2012-2014, so you don't get the real result post legalization of recreational marijuana.

Here's a closer look at Louisiana.
