Okay, he didn't pretend to be in a coma for two straight years, but this story gets worse...

Alan Knight of South Wales did, for two years, pretend to be a quadriplegic, and fake seizures that would sometimes leave him "comatose." He did this in a scam to get out of paying back, or showing up in court for a separate scam he committed two years earlier.

In court, it was said that Knight worked as a caretaker for his elderly neighbor. He used his position to funnel over $64,000 out of the elderly neighbor's account.

In order to not pay back, or be summonsed in court, Knight's wife claimed that she had to support him after he became a quadriplegic in an accident while trying to open a garage door. This allowed Knight to collect disability payments from the government.

Every time he would be summons to court, he would end up back in hospital in a "coma."

The rouse was up when the supposed quadriplegic Knight was caught in video footage walking around a grocery store.

He is set to be sentenced next month.
