Love Boudin? This Cookoff Is For You!
Ahhh boudin. The necessary delicacy. I’m quite the fan… in fact, my favorite breakfast is a link (or 2) and a Dr. Pepper. So come October 20th, you know I’ll be in downtown Lafayette for the 5th annual boudin cookoff.
“We are excited to welcome so many first time teams to the competition.” says Dawn Carriker of theboudinlink.com. “This year will be a real treat for boudin lovers because we have Cochon of Lafayette, J.W.’s Meats and Smokehouse from Breaux Bridge, and Fatback Boucherie out of Austin, Texas, to name just a few of the new entrants.”
The cook-off will be held at Parc Sans Souci. It’s free and open from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. There will be music by the Sons of Voodoo, The Specklers, and the Babineaux Sisters. There will be samples from Uncle’s BBQ Sauce and free ice cream sandwiches from Blue Bell. In addition, there will be food, refreshments, prizes, and free activities, including fun jumps, face painting, games, and the boudin eating contest. Proceeds benefit the Historic Preservation Alliance of Lafayette. the cookoff is being presented by BoudinLink.com and CajunGrocer.com. For more information, visit www.boudincookoff.com.
