The LBFHA, Louisiana Beard And Facial Hair Association, is holding their 3rd annual beard competition to benefit Healing House April 11th at Jefferson Street Pub, all brought to you by our friends at Gentrie Supply Co.

This is going to be a TON of fun for a great cause, so break out your Tree Oil and Stache Wax and let's get it on!

Here are the different categories of the competition -

Full Beard Natural (8" or longer)
An uninterrupted beard from sideburn to sideburn, including moustache than measures 8 inches or longer from the bottom lip to where the beard terminates. This includes Verdi & Garibaldi.

Full Beard Natural (under 8")
An uninterrupted beard from sideburn to sideburn, including moustache than measures less than 8 inches from the bottom lip to where the beard terminates. This includes Verdi & Garibaldi.

Beard with Styled Stache
No styling beard, moustache must begin 1.5 cm from mouth edge. No length requirements on beard.

Freestyle Beard
Full or partial beard styled. No rules

Goatee
Beard hair must be limited to 1 inch from edge of mouth. The moustache is optional and may be styled.

Sideburns
Natural facial hair with a shaved shin. Moustache is optional. Styled sideburns should register for freestyle beard.

Donegal (Whaler, Amish, Lincoln, Chin Strap)
No moustache allowed. Beard must stretch from one sideburn to the other, wrapping along the bottom of the face.

Natural Moustache
Only moustache measured 1.5 cm from edge of mouth. No styling aides. May be brushed or combed.

Styled Moustache
Only Moustache measured 1.5 cm from edge. Styling Aides allowed

Whiskerina - Ladies Faux Hair
Ladies category, beard or moustache, creative or realistic. No rules other than it must be able to rest, hang from face without using hands.

6-Month Sprint
On October 11, several contestants clean shaved, removing all facial hair. They have had 6 months to grow whatever style they wish. They will compete in this special category. * These contestants will be able to compete in other categories.

* At the end of the competition, all the 1st place winners will be brought back on stage for the Crowd Favorite. This is solely decided by the crowd. During our first two years, we have had a male winner (1st place Beard w/ Styled Stache) and a female (1st place Whiskerinas). Let it be known that this is for the crowd. No judges involved. Let it be known.
