Jared Leto As Kurt Cobain Is Not Film Audition

A few weeks back, we posted a video of Jared Leto as Kurt Cobain. While everyone thinks the video was an audition for an upcoming biopic on Kurt Cobain, Leto begs to differ.

A movie on Cobain is in the works. And Jared Leto is thought to be in the run for lead role. But Leto insists that his video was just a tribute to mark the anniversary of Cobain's death.

This is what Leto had to say:

“I was curious, so I filmed myself exploring the character. It was really just an exercise in exploration – I never sent it to the studio and I didn’t have a grand plan.

Then I heard it was the anniversary of his death, so I just thought I’d put it out there. I’ve always been incredibly grateful for his contribution.”

Leto never said that he wouldn't play Cobain either, so for me it's still up in the air. We'll keep you posted on what's to happen next.
