Is Ryan Gosling Playing Silverchair Frontman Daniel Johns In A New Movie? [Pic]

While browsing the internet yesterday I came across a picture of Ryan Gosling on the set of a new movie he's filming. My immediate thought was, "Holy Crap! They're making a Silverchair movie and Ryan Gosling is playing Daniel Johns?!?!?"

I've mentioned before that Silverchair is my favorite band. Most people remember them as the baby-faced 15 year old's playing 'Tomorrow' from their debut album Frogstomp. Turns out they grew up and are now in their early 30's, and look much different! While they are in 'hibernation' as they call it, there's no new Silverchair music planned as of now.

I've read the official Silverchair biography, 'Tomorrow Never Knows' MULTIPLE times. For me, and fans of the band, it would make a great movie. To be completely honest, unless you're an avid fan of the band, it may not appeal to you. So, it kinda had me wondering why they would be making a Silverchair movie, and why the hell such a big star like Ryan Gosling would be playing the part of Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns.

Turns out that's not the case at all. He just so happens to look almost identical to Johns on the set of his new movie from Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn, Only God Forgives. The premise of the movie as described by imdb:

"A Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster settle their differences in a Thai-boxing match."

So, I'm guessing Gosling will be playing the gangster. And I just realized that Daniel Johns dresses like a gangster on a regular basis!
