Interested in video games? Do you only enjoy playing them, or do you think you have what it takes to develop new games? Whatever your passion, check out iFEST, a free 1-day festival for independent game developers – from new startups and established studios to anyone who thinks they might have what it takes to imagine, design, build and market games indie-style. iFest will also feature independent game companies as well as game programming enthusiasts on hand to demonstrate their games as well as discuss current trends in the video gaming industry.

The Academy of Interactive Entertainment, a Lafayette based school for game developers, will host iFest at the Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE) center on Saturday, August 4th, from 10:00AM til 5:00PM. Gameplay for profit is increasingly serious business and the industry is diversifying: flexible teams, fresh ideas, rapid development and the ability to self-publish are key to achieving success. Equally important are a strong community and vibrant creative culture to sustain it. Get more details at ifest.us
