"The End" is near. In fact, so are a whole bunch of new In Flames songs. The Swedish metallers will be back on the scene a little later this year with a new album called Battles, and you can hear their new song "The End" in the player above. The group has secured a Nov. 11 street date for the album through Eleven Seven Music.

The group worked on the effort with the assistance of acclaimed hard rock producer Howard Benson, and you can hear a bit of a more melodic sound in some parts of their newly released track "The End." Guitarist Bjorn Gelotte told Decibel, who revealed the new album news along with premiering "The End" song, that the track was "a fairly straightforward In Flames song. Having said that, it's a really positive vibe to the song. It's not a slash-your-wrists kind of vibe; it makes you realize to just make sure you appreciate that moment."

Gelotte reveals that the album as a whole has a more upbeat vibe to it, while vocalist Anders Friden adds that it was influenced by the fact that they recorded in Los Angeles and that Howard Benson's team kept his energy up throughout the process.

Fans can look for In Flames hitting the road in January of next year, playing alongside Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed on shows in Europe. They will hit the U.S. later in 2017. For now, look for them at these stops, and check back later for more dates to be announced. And keep an eye out for In Flames' Sounds From the Heart of Gothenberg live DVD coming Sept. 23.
