Hugely Popular New Orleans Oyster Bar To Open In Lafayette

Looks like Lafayette will soon see the opening of a hugely popular New Orleans oyster bar!

The owners of Drago's Seafood Restaurant are currently looking at three restaurant sites in Lafayette. Two of the locations are in River Ranch, while the other is on Ambassador Caffery.

"I can't wait to open a restaurant there," said restaurant co-owner Tommy Cvitanovich. "I couldn't care less what the oil price is now. I know the folks in Lafayette would love to have a Drago's, and I would love to put a location there. It's a progressive and fun place full of hospitality and culture. That's exactly the sort of thing we love."

Charbroiled oysters are obviously what they're known for, they do have a large menu with other things like lobster, seared duck, poboys, and more!

They hope to open the restaurant by the end of summer! The location and opening date hope to be formally announced within a month.

"I'm very excited. I'm very anxious. I'm very much looking forward to it," Cvitanovich said. "I've got friends who work (in Lafayette), and they can't say enough nice things about the Lafayette area and the clientele and the business they have."

As my fiance put it, "Be still my little charbroiled oyster loving heart."
