An expected road collapse happened faster than workers expected in New Orleans on Canal Street near Harrah's Casino.

The city of New Orleans closed lake-bound traffic on Canal St. two weeks ago due to an underground problem. There was a damaged was on an inactive tunnel under the roadway.

This morning, city workers saw the road begin to buckle. They expected it to cave in, just not as quickly as it did.

This is the second road that's caved in New Orleans in 24 hours. A sinkhole formed at the 400 block of Constantinople Street yesterday (4/28) due to heavy rains.
