It's so crazy to watch the news and listen to the reports of Hurricane Sandy. I guess it happens down here so much, it's no big deal for us Southerners. To hear the Yankees tell it, though, the world has stopped turning. Yeah...for a hurricane. I bet they didn't even have a proper party.

Now that Hurricane Isaac has moved through the area, schools throughout Acadiana are assessing damage and determining when to resume classes. The following schools have announced they will re-open:

Despite recently weakening to a tropical storm, the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Isaac continue through Wednesday afternoon. The storm has dumped more than ten inches of rain across the area and left at least 725,000 homes without power.
