I repeat. Boudin king cake is REAL! And it's topped with Steen's syrup, and cracklin crumbs!

Three foods that Louisiana is known for (boudin, king cake, cracklin) have come together to form something that none of us thought possible! BOUDIN KING CAKE! And another Louisiana favorite, Steen syrup, is poured on top as well.

Who thinks this stuff up, and actually does it?

Robert Carriker, the man behind boudinlink.com and kingcaker.com, has done it. He wins. We can all go home now...and eat our boudin king cakes.

According to The Advertiser, Carriker, who is a history professor at UL, started developing the king cake a few months ago. The cake itself is made from Pillsbury country white artisan bread mix. He uses Billy's and Johnsons boudin in the cakes. And just last week, he put them on the market!

"People love it," he says. "It's a novelty, but it is also really good."

If you're looking to order yourself a boudin king cake topped with Steen's syrup, and cracklin crumbs, put aside at least $35, and email cake@boudinlink.com, visit his site, or Facebook page.
