According to New Orleans Saints outside linebacker Junior Galette's attorney, he will be cleared once a full investigation is complete.

Galette was arrested yesterday (Jan. 5) on charges of simple battery involving domestic violence. Galette's cousin, Terrance Banks, was also arrested.

The woman who called police said that she cooked and cleaned for Galette and had been living with him for two years. She told police that she had been forcibly removed from the home, and was bleeding from the ear, and had scratches on her cheek.

Galette described her as a "dancer". Galette's attorney, Ralph Whalen, says that the woman was an unwanted guest in his home, and was threatening people with a knife.

"The incident began when a guest at Junior Galette's home was asked to leave his house, and she refused," Whalen said. "She then grabbed a knife and threatened Junior and four other people in the house, including Junior's girlfriend."

Whalen also said that the woman lost an earring, and injured her ear when a dog reacted to the commotion and jumped on her. He says there are four other witnesses that can attest to this.

"This was not from any contact with Junior Galette," he said. "There are four witnesses to corroborate this event, including Junior's girlfriend. The incident was videotaped by Mr. Galette himself."

Kenner police are awaiting a search warrant to see the video on Galette's phone.

"Junior Galette wants his friends, his fans, his teammates, the Saints organization and the NFL to know that he understands that domestic violence is unacceptable and he supports the league's efforts to deal with this important issue," Whalen said.

Galette's initial court appearance is set for February 26th.
