There was a scare on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette today. The university send out a mass alert text to students earlier this morning because they wanted to warn students about a man who was on campus with a gun. The alert has now been rescinded because everything is now okay.

From KATC.com:

According to the Lafayette Police Department, someone called into police that they were going to take their own life near St. Mary and Johnston streets. A viewer-submitted photo, however, shows police responding at the corner of St. Julien and Johnston streets.

Police have since sent a second alert to students and faculty saying that authorities are on scene and everyone is safe.
